Types of Manuscripts and Submission Requirements

Omni-Akuatika accepts original research articles that fall within the journal's focus and scope. Submitted manuscripts must demonstrate a sound scientific foundation, employ appropriate research methods, and provide meaningful contributions to the advancement of knowledge and practice in aquaculture, aquatic sciences, fisheries, and related fields.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal's scope, scientific quality, originality, and compliance with the journal's submission requirements. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are considered for peer review in accordance with Omni-Akuatika's editorial policies.

1. Types of Articles

1. Research Articles

Research Articles present original and unpublished research findings, including controlled trials, intervention studies, screening and diagnostic test evaluations, cost-effectiveness analyses, case-control studies, surveys, and monitoring programs. Manuscripts should generally not exceed 8,000 words. However, manuscripts of up to 10,000 words may be considered after consultation with the Editor-in-Chief. The length of the manuscript should be appropriate to the scientific content presented. Introductory material should be concise, and data presented in figures should not be duplicated in tables.

2. Short Communications

Short Communications provide brief reports of significant preliminary findings or urgent research results that warrant rapid publication. Manuscripts should not exceed 4,000 words, excluding the abstract and references, and should contain no more than 10 references.

3. Review Articles

Review Articles provide critical assessments of published literature and available data relevant to the journal's scope. Authors intending to submit a review article are encouraged to consult the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors regarding the suitability of the topic and the expected manuscript length before submission.

Special Issues

Papers originating from seminars, symposia, workshops, and conferences may be considered for publication in a Special Issue, subject to editorial evaluation and peer review.

Depending on the research design and subject matter, a research article generally includes the following sections:

  • Title

  • Abstract and Keywords

  • Introduction

  • Materials and Methods

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • Acknowledgements, where applicable

  • Funding Statement, where applicable

  • Conflict of Interest Statement

  • Data Availability Statement, where applicable

  • References

The organization and naming of individual sections may be adjusted according to the nature of the study and the journal's Author Guidelines. Authors must ensure that the manuscript provides sufficient methodological detail, appropriate data analysis, and a clear explanation of the contribution and significance of the research findings.

2. Manuscript Eligibility and General Requirements

All manuscripts submitted to Omni-Akuatika must meet the following requirements:

  1. The manuscript reports original scientific research and falls within the journal's focus and scope.

  2. The manuscript has not been previously published and is not simultaneously under consideration for publication by another journal.

  3. The manuscript follows the journal's Author Guidelines, manuscript template, and reference and citation requirements.

  4. All sources, datasets, figures, tables, and materials originating from other parties are appropriately cited, acknowledged, or used with the necessary permission.

  5. Relevant funding sources and potential conflicts of interest are disclosed transparently.

  6. Research involving human participants, animals, personal data, or other subjects requiring ethical oversight complies with applicable ethical standards and approval requirements.

  7. All listed authors have approved the submitted manuscript and accept responsibility for the integrity of the research.

  8. The methods, results, and conclusions are presented accurately, and the manuscript provides sufficient scientific evidence to support its claims.

Manuscripts that fail to meet these basic requirements, fall outside the journal's scope, or do not demonstrate sufficient scientific merit may be returned to the authors or rejected during the initial editorial screening without proceeding to peer review.

3. Manuscript Types Not Accepted

Omni-Akuatika does not accept Review Articles as a manuscript type. This includes literature reviews, systematic literature reviews, scoping reviews, meta-analyses, and other manuscripts whose primary purpose is to synthesize or evaluate previously published studies rather than report original research findings.

Authors intending to submit to Omni-Akuatika should therefore ensure that their manuscripts present original research supported by appropriate data, analyses, and scientific interpretation. A discussion of previous literature is expected as part of an original research article; however, a manuscript consisting primarily of a review or synthesis of existing publications is not eligible for submission.

4. Manuscript Submission

Authors must submit their manuscripts through the official Omni-Akuatika online journal system and follow the applicable Author Guidelines before submission.

Before submitting, authors should verify that the manuscript is an original research article, is consistent with the journal's focus and scope, complies with the formatting and ethical requirements, and includes all required declarations and supporting information.

The submission of a manuscript indicates that the authors agree to comply with Omni-Akuatika's editorial policies and publication ethics requirements. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication, as all manuscripts remain subject to editorial assessment and, where applicable, peer review.

For submission instructions and manuscript preparation requirements, authors should consult the official Omni-Akuatika website.
